IstanbulLight Lighting Design Summit will be held at Istanbul Exhibition Center on September 21-22 as part of IstanbulLight International Lighting and Electrical Materials Fair. The summit, organized with the aim of bringing lighting design to its rightful place, will bring together the most successful names of the sector globally in Istanbul. Keynote speeches at the summit will be Rogier van der Heide, who has had countless successes with 25 years of experience in the industry, and Daan Roosegaarde, an award-winning designer who has breathed new life into lighting design.
UBM Turkey organized in partnership with the Association of Lighting Equipment Manufacturers (AGİd) and the Turkish National Committee for Lighting (ATMK). IstanbulLight International Lighting and Electrical Materials Fair and Congress takes place on September 19-22 at Istanbul Exhibition Center. This year, the fair hosts the IstanbulLight Lighting Design Summit to bring to the table every aspect of the lighting design that will shape the future of the sector. At the summit held on September 21-22 at the Istanbul Exhibition Center, successful names in their fields will share their experiences and examples globally with the participants.
PLD Turkey – August Technology Founder Emre Güneş will moderate the summit, which will focus on lighting design and its importance together with examples in Turkey and around the world.The keynote speeches of the summit, which will include 14 speakers, will be delivered by Rogier van der Heide and Daan Roosegaarde with his speech titled 25 Years of Light.
25 Light Years, Countless Achievements
Rogier van der Heide is a designer known worldwide for his innovation and creativity. So far, he has collaborated with many famous architects such as Renzo Piano, Zaha Hadid, Michael Graves, Cesar Pelli, Rob Krier. Van der Heide, who manages international projects at philips, Zumtobel Group, Arup Lighting, continues to work today with 25 years of experience as Curiosity Group Director. He is also welcomed in many parts of the world as a successful speaker, the designer's speech on the beauty of darkness at TED has been viewed more than 500,000 times.
Van der Heide, who stated that his goal is to create designs that are meaningful and enrich life with technology, will share how he shaped the world's pioneering lighting design practice without losing his ideals when he was a young solo designer at the IstanbulLight Lighting Design Summit. Although the designer has not yet seen the value he deserves with his individual success story, he will show that it is possible to make lighting design valuable and achieve success in the industry.
A Look at 'Landscapes of the Future'
Artist and innovation creator Daan Roosegaarde uses technology to develop social designs. In today's world, it offers extraordinary solutions to the problems of cities such as rapidly increasing population, pollution, traffic density, such as smart highways and dirty air intake towers. Named among the pioneers of creative change by Forbes and the Good 100, roosegaarde is a designer shaping the future, one of the young global leaders of the World Economic Forum (WEF).
At the summit, Roosegaarde will share his views on the social role of design and his vision of combining people, technology and space to create a better world. It will discuss how it creates a transformation in cities with solutions inspired by nature and how a future can be created from this point of view.
