According to the data obtained from the website of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), where it publishes export figures regularly, the lighting sector has risen with a big jump in the second half of 2020.
Compared to the periods 2019 – 2020, export figures compared to last year are 1. Half of the time, it was -10.54% due to the pandemic. In the second half of 2020, export figures jumped by a large percentage point, bringing down the loss rates and finishing at -5.04 %. This activity shows us that by the end of December 2020 , the export figures will reach last year.
The biggest impact of the decrease in export figures in the lighting sector was due to the automotive sector. With the slowdown of automotive production, it is seen that the losses of lighting companies supplying the sector are negatively reflected in the export figures.
Compared to the past year 11 months of 2020; Between 1 JANUARY and 30 NOVEMBER 2019, the export of lighting products amounted to 153,366,852.84 ($), compared to 145,643,381.53 ($) between JANUARY 1 and NOVEMBER 30, 2020. The lighting sector, which was partially affected by its negative effects at the beginning of the pandemic process, began to compensate for the loss. According to all these developments, the year seems to be about to be completed with a decline of -5.04% .
When we look at the export rates of 2020, our companies with brand and production power finish the year at the top again. Our top 10 companies in exports consist of brands with high production and product diversity. It is seen that the weight of these companies in the past with their long-term work abroad and brand and product promotions has turned their value into a surplus during the Pandemic period. The combination of quality and brand awareness and production capacity turns out to be overcome without difficulty in the export doors in the lighting sector. When we look at the brands in the top ten, we see that these companies participate in at least three or four international fairs during the year, the overseas dealership networks are solid and they produce quality.
