Ultraviolet technology has a history of almost 100 years. In the last 50 years, especially UVC wavelength products have been widely used in hospitals to eliminate microbiological pollution. The Turkish equivalent of ultraviolet is called beyond purple and is classified as wavelengths A, B and C in the wavelength range of 100-415 nanometers (nm) emitted from the sun.

The human eye can anatomically detect radiations between 380-780 nm. The main reason for this is the occurence of vision as a result of the transport of rays to the dish at the back of the eye and the length or shortness of the wavelengths of these rays. The human eye can only see and perceive wavelengths starting from 380 nm. Since the UVA wavelength is between 315-380 nm, the human eye perceives a small range (380-415 nm range) as PURPLE color. Since the beam beams of wavelengths shorter than 380 nanometers are not long enough, they cannot reach the dish behind the human eye, so we cannot see UVC and UVB radiation.

The main approach is that UVC wavelengths are short and their energy is quite high compared to UVB and UVA. If this UVC energy is managed correctly and on scientific basis, it has not only been proven in numerous scientific studies that unseen harmful microbiological beings are neutralized by invisible UVC radiations, but it has become a widespread medical practice.

Mercury steam UVC fluorescent lamps, which have been used for many years, discharge of mercury gas between two electrodes in a glass tube result in wavelength bundles, mostly in the UVC group. Although the use of mercury in many sectors and products is prohibited, it is only allowed for medical purposes, and imports and exports are allowed despite the high risks it contains in many countries of the world. The biggest risk it contains is that the mercury gas inside the glass tube is scattered around as a result of the glass breaking. This situation is quite dangerous and should be applied to the Atomic Energy Agency, any surface contaminated with mercury should not be touched, the air in the environment should not be inhaled. However, when UVC mercury steam lamps are immaculate at 254 nm or less, if the mercury vapor is placed in a Quartz glass, there is a very high probability that this lamp will produce ozone.

When ozone is inhaled, our lungs cannot distinguish ozone from oxygen, and after a certain limit value is exceeded, high-risk grave health consequences such as divers eating a hit can be encountered. However, some of the world's leading companies for medical applications have prevented ozone emissions by using a very special glass instead of Quartz glass, and these mercury steam special glazed products are quite suitable as products for medical applications, but their prices are just as expensive. In addition, the products are used in a controlled manner by medically trained personnel.

With the revolutionary developments of the new millennium in areas such as semiconductors, nano-technological devices and internet technologies in the last 20 years, UVC radiations can be produced with LED chips in a safe, long-lasting, highly compatible way to the software and digital world. Especially with air pollution, water pollution and virus outbreaks of Far Eastern origin such as MERS and SARS in Far Eastern countries such as Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, China, UVC LEDs have undergone rapid development and transformation in this geographical region in conjunctivity with semiconductor technologies.

The effectiveness of disinfection solutions applied to various surfaces with chemicals should be questioned unless the reliability of the manufacturers is checked for the use of chemical compositions suitable for standards and human health.

The most basic difference between disinfection and sterilization; When the environment is not completely free of microbiological pollution in the cleaning process, which is usually carried out in an environment using chemicals, the process with a certain protection but no full protection effectiveness is called disinfection. The process of neutralizing microbiological pollution in the environment up to 99.999% is also called sterilization. Sterilization can be achieved effectively with products manufactured with UVC LED.
