Architect Banu Uçak, the General Coordinator of Ferko, the leading figure in the construction industry, was the only Turkish female architect to be on the jury of the World Architecture Festival (WAF 2017) in Berlin on November 15th and 17th. He will serve as jury president in the Future Projects: Competition Projects category.
This year, turkey's architect Banu Uçak is on the jury for the third time in the competition section of the World Architecture Festival, one of the most important international events in the world of architecture.
Banu Uçak, who has been a jury member with turkey's leading architects in recent years and was a jury member in the housing / SHOPPING MALL category in 2016, is also serving as the jury president in the Future Projects: Competition Projects category this year.
This year, 434 projects from different typologies and scales from small family residences to schools, stations, museums, large infrastructure and landscaping were finalized. In the event, which has received great attention in our country and is among the most prestigious organizations in the world, 14 architectural practices from Turkey will compete in the final with 24 projects.
The competition section of the World Architecture Festival is an organization that makes a difference by presenting and evaluating hundreds of shortlisted projects to the jury members one-on-one.
About Banu Aircraft:
He was born in Istanbul in 1979. After FMV Private Light High School, he graduated from Yildiz Technical University Faculty of Architecture, Department of Architecture and is currently continuing his master's program in Architectural Design at Istanbul Technical University.
After architectural experiments at Assos Archaeological excavation and TALU Ltd., he started working in 2001 at the Building-Industry Center, the leading information center of the building sector, where he held different positions for 14 years. He is the Strategic Marketing and Business Development Coordinator at YEM and The Deputy General Manager for Project Sales and Business Development within Seranit Group and currently serves as General Coordinator at Ferko.
In addition to jury memberships such as Banu Uçak, Aga Khan architecture awards nominator, World Architecture Festival Jury membership, he also worked in non-governmental organizations such as INDER Board of Directors and ULI Turkey Board of Directors.
