Founded on 31 October 1995, the ATMK today marks its 23rd anniversary.
Although it was agreed that the National Committee should be established and operational as soon as possible at a meeting held at the Faculty of Engineering Architecture of Macka on February 16, 1982, the "Turkish National Committee of Lighting" was only established on behalf of the Higher Education Council on 31 October 1995, in accordance with Article 7/3-m of the Law No. 2547. It was established with the regulation published in the Official Gazette no. 22449 and started its activities with the date of establishment.
- To encourage, carry out and support progress and studies in the field of lighting in Turkey, to organize scientific meetings, to make scientific publications,
- To participate in the "International Commission on Illumination" as a member organization from Turkey, to represent Turkey in the presence of this union,
- To establish contacts and relations with other members of the Union, institutions and organizations and to cooperate with them within their purposes and opportunities,
- To encourage studies focusing on tools, methods and theoretical issues used in the field of lighting science and applications, to organize and manage vocational training activities.
Lighting The Turkish National Committee continues to lead academic and technological studies for the development of the country and the development of science and technology in the fields related to the establishment. ….
