The IstanbulLight Lighting Design Summit, organized within the scope of IstanbulLight International Lighting and Electrical Materials Fair, which will take place at istanbul exhibition center on September 19-22, brings together industry professionals on September 21-22. The summit will offer a 360-degree perspective on lighting design, which is critical in the lighting industry, and will feature 14 international professional speakers who are experts in their fields. Keynote speakers at the summit will be Rogier van der Heide, a master of lighting design with 25 years of experience, and Daan Roosegaarde, who came out first with his innovative approach in this field.

On September 19-22, 2018, 12 sessions will be held at the Istanbul Exhibition Center, where the best examples of lighting designs and experiences to serve the future of the sector will be shared at the summit to be held within the scope of IstanbulLight 2018. In this context, the summit, which will be held on 21-22 September, will host leading speakers from the national and international arenas.
Stating that the summit gave an important support to the rapidly developing lighting design sector, Mehmet Shopci, Brand Director of UBM Turkey IstanbulLight, said, "In the last 10 years, we have seen significant growth in the construction sector to meet the needs of our rapidly growing population. In parallel with this growth, which has led to the development of the lighting sector, the importance of lighting design in special projects has been better understood and valued. In order to support independent Turkish lighting designers developing rapidly in our country, we are organizing the 2nd IstanbulLight Lighting Design Summit within the scope of IstanbulLight Fair. To be able to listen to the presentation of the acclaimed sample projects, the agenda of the sector, from domestic and international speakers; we think it will be exciting for the offices of construction, contractor, architecture, interior architecture, landscape architecture. We invite private sector investors, ministries and municipalities to watch the summit if we see the difference that Lighting Design creates in projects, the prestige it gives, and want to improve its horizons and get to know the lighting design community."
PLD Turkey – August Technology Founder Emre Güneş is both curating the summit and will be looking for answers to the question "Who is the lighting designer?" with his speech at the event. The sun; "The profession of lighting designer needs attention. Despite the rapidly spreading professional associations, events, members and representatives in America in the 1950s and europe after 1980, it is still in its infancy. Although it is more and more accepted, it has not yet become official in this sense, which is still not authorized to sign. But what good lighting can do, the relationships between light and health, psychology, commercial success are known. So it's clear that lighting needs to be designed. This event has a very important place in terms of contributing to the awareness of the profession and raising the awareness of the society. IstanbulLight Lighting Design Summit is preparing to face its participants with a rich content.
Within the scope of the summit; Rogier van der Heide of the Curiosity Group, who has worked in this field for 25 years and is internationally recognized, will share his experiences. Studio Roosegaarde's Daan Roosegaarde will present an innovative approach that combines people, technology and space for a better world.

Dilek Sahin of ALD Lighting with the experience of Heydar Aliyev Modern Collection Complex in Baku, Azerbaijan, will present the concept of "lighting for a better learning environment" to the participants. Ali Berkman of ONOFF Lighting will give a talk on lighting jargon.
Mustafa Seven from Seven Lights will focus on lighting design and money. Korhan Fat from Planlux will talk about what is visible in spaces through the eyes of a lighting designer.
Nergiz Arifoglu of NA Light Style will share the details of the Galata project, which has an important place in the Istanbul skyline. Zeki Kadirbeyoglu of ZKLD Studio will talk about his experiences on the African continent, where many cultures meet on the axis of light and shadow.
Faruk Uyan from LAB.1 will share information with examples on daylight simulation and consultancy.
The 11th edition of the Lighting Turkish National Committee (ATMK) and the Association of Lighting Equipment Manufacturers (AGİd) was organized with the support of the 11th Edition. IstanbulLight International Lighting and Electrical Materials Fair and Congress will host more than 8000 industry professionals from the Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe, balkans, CIS Countries this year and host the latest products and technologies from over 250 companies. The IstanbulLight Lighting Design Summit, held simultaneously with the fair, will also open its doors to professionals from around the world.
