Haramain High-Speed Railway is a major infrastructure project for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, connecting mecca, Medina, Jeddah and the developing cities of King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC). In total, the large and flexible stations will cover an area more than 30 times larger than London's Trafalgar Square and will initially be home to 60 million passengers, which will nearly six times the number of passengers taking the Eurostar from St Pancras each year. This is expected to grow to 135 million passengers by 2042.
