Turkey's lighting manufacturing sector has recently scaled up. Lighting industry has gone on the offensive in the last 5 years

IstanbulLight will be held at Istanbul Exhibition Center on September 18-21, 2019. In important statements about the sector before the International Lighting & Electrical Materials Fair and Congress, AGİd President Fahir Gök stated that he believes that with more efficient evaluation of the potential of the sector, the foreign trade deficit in lighting equipment, which has decreased in recent years, can be closed and become a net exporter. Gök underlined that the foreign trade balance of electrical lighting equipment is shrinking due to developments in exports and imports, and that the deficit decreased from $444.59 million in 2013 to $149.35 million in 2018 thanks to the measures taken by the Ministry of Industry and Technology and the great performance of the sector. Referring to the ministry's work on investing in China's lighting sector in Turkey, Gok said, "You will hear a lot about new collaborations, zero purchases, new company formations in the near future. Turkey and its geography are very important and indispensable for China."

We are on our way to becoming a net exporter

Stating that the sector has a strong potential especially in terms of product and quality standards, human resources and logistics infrastructure, AGİd President Fahir Gök stated that their goal is to adapt to new global trends, to compete with emerging new competitors, especially in Asia, and to have a greater say in the rapidly growing markets in our immediate environment. IstanbulLight, organized by Informa Markets in partnership with ATMK and AGİd, is the 12th city. He added that the International Lighting & Electrical Materials Fair and Congress will offer new market and cooperation opportunities to the sector and that more than 6,500 industry professionals and 230 companies from Turkey, the Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe, the Balkans, CIS countries and Asia will take part in IstanbulLight.
