Ribbon LED Lights

LED strip lights or LED strips/bands are a versatile lighting solution that provides endless possibilities.

The LED lighting strip is basically a continuous series of LEDs soldered together with resistance to create a circuit. When operated by a power source or drive, the LEDs produce an uninterrupted light similar to a fluorescent lamp. LEDs are low voltage and require a DC (DC voltage), which is usually 12 or 24 volts dc current. When connecting the shedder to a mains voltage, the power supply from the LED drive must be used. The power of the drive is determined by the current power and the length of the tape.

There are three main types of LED strip light. The first of these is not waterproof. This version is the simplest and most fragile, as LEDs are placed on a card or plastic without any protection to protect them. This version consists of a similar SERIES of LEDs, but is covered with a transparent, thin layer of silicone. The silicone version is not adhesive, double-sided tape or glue should be used when gluing it to a surface. The other version provides more protection when the LEDs are turned off and placed in the epoxy resin set. This version is waterproof, has adhesive properties and is rated ip65. The epoxy version features all the best features in other LED strips.

LED Strip Light Variants

These variants are only the structure of lighting strips. Within the strips, there are many types of LED chips that can be used, from smaller dimmer chips to larger lighter chips. When using larger chips, the strip must be wider so that they can be placed.

LED bands have been used in commercial applications for many years, but until recently they were considered too expensive and complex for home use. The LED strip is now more accessible as the price of LEDs has gradually fallen due to high demand and mass production. Easy-to-order, plug-and-play kits allow it to be suitable for consumers and the potential of the LED strip is recognized by many. One of the fastest growing areas used by the LED strip is under the kitchen cabinets. The advantages of using lighting strips here are that they can be cut almost exactly the required lengths (within 50 mm). Basic installations can be done in minutes, as the strips can be installed directly into cabinets using adhesive support. Then, when you connect the power supply directly to a standard outlet, the job is done.

When using multiple color-changing strips, some commercial projects can become quite complex and all need to be checked from the main unit. This is when a Digital Multiplex control should be used when DMX converts a basic digital signal into a PWM signal (plus width modulation). Once the strips are converted to a PWM signal, they can be controlled with computer-based software that allows everything from color change to scene adjustment.

LED Strip Lights Infinite Use

LED strip light options for their new users may seem daunting, but most companies have noticed that there is no need to store all available strips when a type covers most applications. There is a version with 30 LEDs per meter or 60 LEDs that are super light. Even if you have chosen your strip type, there are different variations, as they are produced in different factories with different quality control procedures.

Control of the strip can be done using computer-based software via remote control or a DMX decoder, using a basic on/off button. The most advanced way is to control the lights via an iPhone or smartphone. This allows you to change the color of the strip in your kitchen from anywhere in the world! This is a great way to check out the rest of the house while on holiday or working.

LED strips can be delivered from 50 mm to 100 meters in a very short time. In the use of hard cables, heavy power units should be used over longer distances. Wired installations should be carried out by a competent electrician. However, shorter distances (about 10 meters) can be done by almost anyone, as they do not require any tools or electrical information.
