Okmeydan Training and Research Hospital, which was rebuilt within the scope of ISMEP Project, entered service as of March 30, 2020.
Okmeydan Training and Research Hospital is part of the ISMEP Project, which is managed by the Istanbul Project Coordination Unit of the Istanbul Governorship; seismic isolator technology has been renewed with smart and green building concept. The new Okmeydan Training and Research Hospital, which was designed in 2 phases, was designed in 2 phases. Phase started to accept patients as of March 30, 2020. The hospital, where 700,000 emergency patients will be treated and 45,000 surgeries will be performed in addition to 1.5 million outpatients annually, was built with seismic isolator technology. 385 seismic isolators will absorb about 90 percent of the load in the event of an earthquake, allowing the building to move very little and regularly. Thus, the hospital will continue to serve with all its facilities and capabilities during and after the earthquake. Ii. With the completion of phase construction, the number of isolators used in the hospital will be 503.
One of the most important features of the hospital, which is described as a vision project due to its innovative and environmentally friendly technologies, is that it is designed as a structure that can produce its own energy.
The I.phase of Okmeydan Training and Research Hospital, which has started to accept patients, has a service area of 180 thousand square meters. When the remaining 20 percent is completed, the hospital will be able to serve a total area of 259,000 square meters.
Phase I of the project will be built with 750 beds, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it can now be used as a 600-bed, 81 of which are intensive care units.
